Beers, Bags, and Bikes

Another Thursday is here! Wahoo, it's almost UpaDowna Incline Happy Hour! We're meeting at 5 P.M. as usual at Barr Trail parking lot. We're switching it up a little bit today though. The Incline has been getting some bad press lately with all the rescues. Today we're going to bring back some positivity up there. K2 decided that this would be a perfect opportunity for us to do some volunteer work. We'll be breaking into small groups (find people who hike at your pace) and picking up trash along the railroad ties and back down Barr Trail. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT JEOPARDIZE YOUR OWN SAFETY FOR A PIECE OF LITTER. Safety is still our number one priority!!!

As long as I'm on the subject of safety, it's 85° out right now so please hydrate! We'll be making frequent stops to pick up trash. If you've never done the Incline with us before, this is a perfect opportunity for you to get out. As always it's self paced and not a race, but tonight everyone will be going a little slower than normal. Afterwards you'll have a sense of community involvement and you can be proud that you contributed. It doesn't matter if you pick up one piece of trash, or if you just hold the bag. It doesn't matter if you don't pick up anything at all, we'd be glad to just have your company while we take care of the garbage. Tonight there are a couple of things going on afterwards. The party will continue at Kinfolks afterwards, where we'll be reloading on carbohydrates. From there some of us will alter course and shoot to La'au's Taco Shop where we will be attending the COS Bike Pub Crawl starting at 8:30. The ride tonight will be a historically good time. It's a themed ride dubbed, Dead Presidents. A few riders will be dressed up as some of our favorite former Commander in Chiefs. Some of the other riders will be decked out secret service agents. A source just confirmed to me that there will most likely be at least one assassination attempt tonight. If you would like to grab your bike and join the ride please do so. The COS Bike Pub Crawl Team is currently still looking for a few more Secret Service Agents. Do you have what it takes to be an agent?
