Smith Rock Thief Caught Red Handed!!
I love the fact the other climbers approached this guy and with out aggression or rude behavior and explained what he was doing wrong. I doubt I would have been as calm and collected. What is unfortunate is that anyone would feel that taking pro off of an established route is acceptable, especially since the routes this guy was "cleaning" were 5.14 rated routes. In my opinion anyone that is climbing at that level has been around enough to know the basic rules...and even if you don't climb, to take something that isn't yours is STEALING!!!

Was anyone at Smith Rock at the end of December that knows this bonehead? If so, perhaps "explain" to him the error of his ways and never climb with some one you can't trust!! An admitted thief is someone you can't trust...period!
This guy claimed to be from Colorado Springs, CO so all of my Springs readers...does he look familiar?
