Halcyon Unfiltered Wheat
American Wheat from Tallgrass Brewing CompanyI got hit hard by a nasty cold last week. I hit it back as hard as I could, but I think it won the war. I fought it off with all the usuals, Chicken Noodle Soup, Cold-ezee, Emergen-C, and a variety of beers. Not 100% yet, but definitely feeling much better! One of these wonderful elixirs that helped pave the way for me feeling better was Halcyon Unfiltered Wheat from Tallgrass Brewing Company. Okay, my cold busting probably had more to do with the Emergen-C boost of 3,334% of of my daily value in Vitamin C, but the Halcyon Unfiltered Wheat went great with Chicken Noodle Soup!
This tasty canned treat rings in at 5.00% ABV, and goes down smooth. Which is quite nice on a sore throat. The head turned to a fluffy white crown and the pour was a brilliant golden blonde body, so blonde that I had to switch from our usual white UpaDowna pint glass, to the black one (get yours today while supplies last!). Off the first drink there is a noticeable bready taste, and a moderate amount of lacing involved, but nothing too sticky. This is a very easy finishing brew, that leaves a slight grainy taste behind. If you're into American Wheat styles, this craft is worth the while.
