Colorado Kolsch

"If you could drink our crisp, refreshing mountain air it might taste like this." That's the claim made by Steamworks Brewing Company about their Colorado Kolsch.

To make this determination for myself I needed some crisp Colorado air to wash it down with. Yeti and I packed up some gear and beer to test and headed above tree line on Vasquez Pass, by means of the Continental Divide Trail.

Just shy of 12,000 ft we found ourselves on a wide spot of the ridge with beautiful views of the Indian Peaks to the north, complimented with Mt. Evans and Beirstadt to the south. We decided to setup camp, and of course crack a couple beers.

Steamwork's compares the crisp taste of Colorado Kolsch to our wonderful state's crisp air. Crisp is right, along with refreshing and smooth! This 4.85% ABV refreshing beverage was just what we needed as we kicked back on the boulders atop the pass and soaked it all in.

Being able to kick back in a place like that with such a great friend is good for the soul. If you need a break from the normal grind, I hope you too have the chance to soon do this, or something that will help you balance things out for you. If you're a beer loving outdoors enthusiast try washing your next adventure down with a Colorado Kolsch, you won't regret it.
