Night Owl Pumpkin Ale

This October has 5 Saturdays, 5 Sundays, and 5 Mondays, true story! This only happens once every 834 years or something. The significance here is we get to do 5 BOTW's this month!!! It's a good thing too, because there are so many awesome Pumpkin, Harvest, and Seasonal Ales to choose from.

Unfortunately I didn't make it to the GABF (Great American Beer Festival) in Denver this year, but I did pick a beer from a brewing company that has won a few awards from the GABF in the past. This week's drink of choice is Elysian Brewing Company's Night Owl Pumpkin Ale.

Many Pumpkin Ale's are only flavored with pumpkin spice, but this ale is the real deal. Night Owl Pumpkin Ale is brewed with over 7 lbs. of pumpkin per barrel, seeds and all! It also has a plethora of spices such as nutmeg, cinnamon, clove, allspice, and ginger that help create its taste. The spices don't over power the pumpkin flavor, but manage to leave a pleasant flavor of cinnamon and nutmeg behind after every drink. It has a light to medium body with an ABV of 5.9%.

Night Owl Pumpkin Ale is definitely one to put on your list if you're a fan of Pumpkin Ales.
