Howling Wolf Weisse Bier
If seasonal changes get you itchin to howl at the moon then there is no better beer to wet your whistle than the Howling Wolf Weisse Bier. Brewed in Victor Idaho at the base of the Teton range this beer is not the best representation of a true German hefe but still comes down crisp and smooth. The dusty yellow hue kind of threw me off because it poured much like a classic hefe but the body was simply lacking. In fact if you were to hand me this beer in a blind taste test I would probably be stretching to say I could call it a hefeweizen. But don't let that discourage you, this is a very drinkable ale that does have some promise. In fact if you dig the hefe's but avoid them on hot days due to the thickness this may be your beer. With a noticeable tart fruity start and medium slightly spiced finish this beer would make a great hot day sessionable brew sure to leave you cooled and comfy after a great day on the trail.
