Cocoa Porter
A much needed winter warming beer to beat the December chill is exactly what I needed after a 3 mile run on this 18° Colorado evening. Luckily for me I had just the beer for the job, Tommyknocker Brewing Company's Cocoa Porter Winter Warmer. This tasty drink is the beer version of a hot chocolate, minus the marshmallows. You immediately notice the chocolate flavor followed with a slight touch of honey. It pours to an almost absent head, and a dark body, while leaving a spotty lacing on the glass. It has a 5.7% ABV, a medium to thin mouthfeel, a little chalky, but smooth and sweet.
This is a seasonal brew, so don't snooze on this one. Tommyknocker is on to something great here! A definite treat for a cold winter day!
