Double Barrel Ale

I drink a lot of good beer and every now and then I drink a couple of beers that are flat out amazing!!! The Double Barrel Ale from Firestone Walker Brewing Company is nothing short of the amazing category in my book.

Sunday January 16th, UpaDowna led a 30 plus person hike through Waldo Canyon, in Pike National Forest. It was a fun hike with great weather and even greater people. At the end of the hike I busted out a traditional celebratory beer, a Schlitz tall boy. Nothing wrong with a Schlitz, PBR, or any other common yellow brew, but when I get home and kick back for the night I really appreciate a fine craft. To say the least the DBA (Double Barrel Ale) exceeded my expectations.

The ice cold DBA went down smoother than smooth, and quenched my thirst. It has a crisp roasted malt flavor, with a slightly above average sticky feel and lacing. It pours to a beautiful golden body with a fluffy head. You'll detect a fine honey accent at the back of the taste. This is a smooth well balanced beer, a very easy drinker. Have one after a fun day in the outdoors, you'll love it!
