Grip Pro Trainer Review
There are tons of gimmicks out there promising amazing results with little to no effort. We've all heard of 5 minute abs, or wonder super mega snake oil to improve this or that and to be honest I think it is all a load of shit. The only sure fire way to reach any goal you have is to be dedicated and methodical. Train smart and train often. But to be honest a lot of the activities we want to do take actual time on the bike, on the slopes, in the field which unfortunately we don't really have the time we want to dedicate to our passions. Fortunately there are little glimmers of hope out there that bring training into our lives with out the gimmicks or meal plans or monthly fees and crazy amount of time invested. One of those is the simple little invention called the Grip Pro.

This giant rubber ring is as simple as they come and the exercises are innumerable. The basic exercise is to grab the ring and squeeze, but as you develop strength you can modify your finger position, number of fingers used and even integrate your forearm in different ways by simply rotating your wrist. I really think this is most effective for climbers, but I definitely see the value in it for cyclists, especially downhill mountain bikers. Anyone that has bombed down a super brutal trail for an extended period of time knows the horrible consequences of arm fatigue! Another unsung benefit of this product is the stress relieving value and the ability to spend untold hours exercising with out knowing it. We have all three in for review and each one has its function, the 50lb is great for brute strength or maxing out, while the 40lb is great for reps and some agility individual finger strengthening, while the green is great for fine motor skills. Sure you can go out and buy only one but I strongly recommend buying the kit of 3 because believe me you will end up using them all. The best method I have found is using the 40lb ring to simply work in 3 reps of 40 or so, but I have to warn you don't get all puffy chested and cocky because this amazingly simple product can make you cry once you try the same reps with the 50lb'er! So now I use the lighter resistance ring for quick reps and use the higher resistance for a truly brutal work out.
All in all I would say this is a great practical product that actually works for it's intended purpose and regardless of what activity you participate in whether it is sending V12 boulder routes or crushing beer cans the Grip Pro will get you to the next level. I do wish the Grip Pro folks would come out with an exercise manual of some sort to show the great variety for exercises that can be performed, but until then I'll have to figure it out as I go.

I bought the green and the black. Hand strength is far more important than what the majority of people realize! Particularly,
when you get older there are many benefits relative to the Grip Pro.
