The North Face Hedgehog GTX XCR Trainers Review

TNF is consistently on top of the gear market with innovative products and an array of constantly upgraded materials and designs and the Hedgehog GTX XCR® trainer is a great example of the TNF's forward thinking.

The Hedgehog GTX XCR® leaves no trail un-passable. The abrasion resistant materials coupled with Gore-Tex® XCR lining materials all supported buy a TPU shank and an uncompromising Vibram® sole. This shoe was developed as a perfect shoe for multisport athletes and adventure racers, the Hedgehog GTX XCR® is the optimal all-terrain shoe that's lightweight, waterproof, breathable and durable. Fortunately it performs exceedingly well as an everyday hiker whether you choose to be light and fast or slow and steady this shoe can handle it all!

Now we all know how cumbersome Vibram soles can be. Vibram has always been synonymous with burly, aggressive, super grippy, tread but it was equally as synonymous with heavy as hell. Fortunately those days are long gone, well at least the days of the heavy as hell label. Vibram has been working tirelessly to lighten its weight while allowing no compromise in the quality of its products. And The North Face is stoked to have these newer soles all over their shoe line up.

Ann, it's funny you should

Ann, it's funny you should mention the eyelets. On multiple occasions I have had an issue with my feet feeling pinched at various points during a run/hike. Initially I thought it was something wrong with the fit of the shoe however after further research I found a few things that have helped me such as I loosen up my laces just a bit a few miles in to allow room for my feet as they swell and all of my running shoes are 1/2 size larger than my street shoe to address this same issue. Now I have no issues!

You should give it a go and let us know if it works.

My Hedgehog GTX XCR Trainers

My Hedgehog GTX XCR Trainers have held up well after miles of use on muddy, rocky trails. I am very impressed by their durability. The only problem is that at least one of the metal eyelets for the laces bruise my right foot by the time I'm finished with a 25-mile day hike.
